Louisiana Chefs to Takeover Birmingham Restaurants

At Hoffman Media, we’re always coming up with new events and ways to interact with the community. So next Tuesday, September 23, in conjunction with the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association, we’re presenting a Louisiana Takeover, an evening where Birmingham diners will have the opportunity to experience the culinary trails of Louisiana. Seven chefs from Louisiana will be placed at restaurants, allowing diners to receive a unique Louisiana dining experience right in their hometown. See the full list.

I just wanted to show off the great video team we have here by sharing their recent work below. Have you missed a video from The Ribbon in My Journal? Use the all-new Video tab in the upper righthand corner of the page. And, as always, I welcome your feedback.

Do you have a favorite restaurant in Louisiana? Or perhaps a favorite native dish?

  1. This entry was a delight! I followed the links to the home pages of Taste of Louisa Magazine site! A treasure of recipes! I have had the good fortune to visit New Orleans with the fondest of memories! Looking forward to creating some of the seafood recipes to share with my friends! Will celebrate Mardi Gras next year with Mardi Gras Pasta Salad! So grateful for your starting and sharing this blog. Thank you for bringing so much joy to my days!

  2. Surely a feast for “foodies” ! I wish I lived closer …
    Dear Phyllis,
Perhaps this event could be featured in an upcoming issue of “Southern Lady” ?
I love the diversity of all cuisine and this looks amazing !

  3. I don’t know if it’s still there, but back in the early 70’s there was a restaurant in New Orleans called Mosca’s that served a wonderful oyster dish with a tomato base sauce. While we lived there, I loved getting fried oyster po-boys and bread pudding.
