Celebrating with a Hanukkah Tea

Phyllis Inspiration 4 Comments

The editors of TeaTime Magazine have created a beautiful Hanukkah tea for their recent Teatime Holidays special edition. With this evening marking the fifth night of the Festival of Lights, I wanted to share some of the beautiful décor and delicious recipes.

As the Festival of Lights begins, we celebrate with a special Hanukkah tea. For the table and décor, silver accents the blue and white often associated with the holiday. Here, Lenox Marchesa Empire Pearl-Indigo china sets the tone, with the scalloped edge of the center of the plate mimicking the look of an elegant snowflake. The pattern’s beaded details and platinum band set off the wintry look. For a touch of heirloom polish, we created simple arrangements of blue and white flowers, placing them in silver julep cups and mercury glass.

For the menu, we wanted a fresh and creative take on traditional Jewish fare. We made Onion–Poppy Seed Scones, and our savories course featured Zucchini Latkes and Lemon Crème Fraîche, Israeli Salad in Pita Cups, and Salmon and Roasted Red Pepper Finger Sandwiches.

Sandwiches for Hanukkah tea

The sweets tier of our Hanukkah tea tray comprised Caraway-Spiced Winter Fruit Compote, Orange-Glazed Mini Bundt Cakes, and Cinnamon-Walnut Tartlets with Cinnamon Whipped Cream.

This is one of two Hanukkah teas featured in our latest special edition, Teatime Holidays.

A tea party is the perfect way to turn a holiday into a truly special occasion. If you’re looking for ways to mark the Festival of Lights, we hope this Hanukkah tea inspires you with fresh ideas for celebrating life’s miracles.

What inspires your celebrations?

  1. A seasonal family tradition inspires my reason to celebrate and or a special friend of family members Birthday that I am close to. Sometimes its just getting girl friends together just to catch up and pick a fun theme; like a Pizza gathering, BBQ in the summer or a holiday toast during Christmas. Just a love of friendship or tradition. Carmel
