Tour This North Carolina Mountain Cottage

Hi, friends. There was a recent reader request for a home tour, so I began thinking about which lovely home I wanted to share. With all of the gorgeous spaces our team photographs, it was hard to choose!

I finally settled on this dreamy mountain cottage in Lonesome Valley, North Carolina. Now that we are in vacation season, people are heading off to the beach, lake, and mountains to enjoy relaxation and the beautiful rhythm of summer days.

Just looking at the pictures of this charming home relaxes me, and I hope you find the same to be true. The elegant yet rustic aesthetic is so inspiring, and I love the perfect balance of natural elements and vibrant color.

Enjoy a tour of this mountain cottage featured in Southern Home magazine.

  1. This is such a lovely home and fits in with well my redecorating scheme. I absolutely love the details in the decor of this cozy and rustic house. I might just copy a few ideas.

  2. “Casual elegance” I think describes most of us in the South. We appreciate fine things like good manners, but understand the importance of relaxing. The dining room table says it all for me. Such a rustic style, set with beautiful things. Ahhh . . .

  3. Oh my goodness, I could move in today! I love the look of elegant, but comfortable. My last home was very formal and our forever home (I hope!) has the look of elegance without the formality. Thank you for sharing these photos. Southern Home magazine, along with Southern Lady are my favorites!

  4. It is a beautiful mountain home. As you said it is elegant and rustic and put together in such an appealing way. How great it would be to actually walk thru the home. I imagine wonderful teas can be had there and yes wonderful memories made there as well. Thank you for the photos.

  5. What a beautiful home. It is relaxing just looking at the photos….just imagine what wonderful memories will be made there with family and friends. Thank you for starting our day off with a serene, relaxing few moments!
