A Visit with Brandon Branch

Phyllis People, Video 10 Comments

It is always amazing to meet people that are support staff to celebrities. One of my favorite people in the world is Brandon Branch, assistant to Paula Deen. I first met Brandon when we went to Savannah to do photography for the first issue of Cooking with Paula Deen magazine. The premiere issue was a Christmas theme, and the decorations and tablescape creations were Brandon’s. Aside from being terribly creative, he is delightfully funny.

You will enjoy my interview with Brandon and get the answers to the question we are asked often: “How do you get to work for Paula Deen?”

After seeing a peek into Brandon’s world, would you want to be a celebrity assistant?

  2. Such a great interview with Brandon. It takes a special person to do the job he does! Thank you for featuring him, Phyllis.

  3. No, I would not want to be a celebrity’s assistant. I would want all the praise and glory for myself! Shame on me, just kidding. His work is FANTASTIC!

  4. I was thrilled to see this interview with Brandon. I always hope to see more of his creative ideas in the magazines. I also wish for more in-depth coverage on Brandon and his creative work. Please give us more! I also learned to arrange flowers in church, and I am now teaching my grandchildren. I loved hearing about Brandon’s work on altar flowers. He is truly special!

  5. Hi Phyllis, I love all your video’s and inspirations through this medium, but particularly in your wonderful magazines, I adore Souther Lady, but all the others are grand as well as I look at them on my coffee table! Brandon is a gem in many ways, I agree with Ann in her comment about seeing more of Brandon’s work in your magazines!

  6. What a great interview and how lucky they “found” one another. I too work for someone that I love My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  7. I do believe that Brandon Is by far the most amazing person. He can take a stick and make it beautiful! I love just following him around and watching, fetching what he needs! Love him! Diane cook

  8. No, I don’t think I would. It “appears” to be a “total” commitment to a celebrity and possibly sacrificing your life. As Brandon says he wakes Paula each morning and “puts” her bed each night.

God Bless those who chose that life, particularly Brandon, as he is so gifted in his craft. I love to see his designs for Paula’s home. I own the book they did together Paula Deen’s Savannah Style and love it.

I’d like to see more of Brandon’s work in her magazine or maybe Southern Lady. Maybe a little more in depth as opposed to just a one page article he is given.

Thanks for inviting us into your conversation with Brandon.
